Reflecting on regular visits to my old birding patch around the villages of Kelk, Lowthorpe and Harpham in East Yorkshire.

Whoop North
A neat line of 20 Whooper Swan flew north last Friday (3rd Mar). That's the biggest flock I've recorded for the area, though the timing is entirely typical.
Yorkshireman curently in exile in Liverpool but visiting Kelk once a month. Much as I'd like to be out there battling the elements every day the rent don't pay itself and my wife would object to never seeing me (I hope!)
